FAQ

Is an optical armband as accurate as a traditional chest strap heart rate monitor?

Historically, early wrist-based optical sensors suffered from tracking lag due to movement at the wrist or poor skin contact. The TICKR FIT solves this entirely by positioning the optical sensor array on the forearm. The forearm features a dense network of stable blood vessels and less mechanical tendon movement than the wrist or hand.

Where is the best anatomical position to wear the TICKR FIT armband?

For the highest tracking precision, we recommend positioning the TICKR FIT on your upper forearm, roughly three finger-widths below your elbow joint. It can be worn securely on either the outer or inner side of the arm depending on personal comfort. Ensure the microfiber strap is adjusted snugly enough so the optical sensor array makes flat, firm contact with your skin without restricting circulation, preventing the pod from shifting when you transition out of the saddle or rattle over rough gravel fire roads.
