The Shimano EW-SD300-I is the next-generation electric wire engineered for internal routing across modern Shimano 12-speed Di2 road, gravel, and mountain bike drivetrains, as well as STEPS e-bike systems. Featuring a significantly slimmer wire diameter and smaller connector plug than older SD50 cables, it allows for cleaner internal frame routing through tight spaces, narrow seatposts, and handlebar setups.

This lightweight, highly flexible wire ensures a robust, interference-free digital data and power transmission between your battery, junction points, and front and rear derailleurs, guaranteeing lightning-fast and reliable electronic shifting performance under all riding conditions.

FAQ

Is the EW-SD300-I compatible with older 11-speed Di2 systems?

No, older 11-speed Di2 components utilize the thicker EW-SD50 wire and ports. The EW-SD300 is exclusively designed for the newer micro-plug architecture found on 12-speed Di2 and recent STEPS systems.

What tool is required to install these wires?

Installation is best performed using Shimano's official TL-EW300 plug tool, which ensures the micro-connector is seated securely into the port without damaging the delicate pins.
