FAQ

How does Kask’s WG11 safety protocol differ from standard MIPS protection?

While MIPS uses an added internal yellow plastic liner that moves independently during a crash, Kask approaches rotational safety through advanced material engineering and structural simulation. The WG11 test protocol is an independent, scientific assessment standard that measures real-world oblique, tangential, and rotational impacts. The Protone Icon achieves rotational force absorption through its precise multi-density EPS foam layup and internal reinforcement cage.

How does the updated Protone Icon differ from the original, classic Kask Protone?

The Protone Icon introduces a comprehensive modernization of the classic. Structurally, Kask updated the inner reinforcement cage to dramatically increase impact safety and passed the rigorous WG11 protocol. Ergonmically, it upgrades to the OCTOFIT+ retention system, which introduces a wider, more robust adjustment dial coated in high-grip rubber for easier on-the-bike tuning.
