FAQ

Is a 2.5mm thickness bar tape cushioned enough for rough Kenyan tarmac and gravel?

Yes, absolutely. While dedicated bike-packing rigs sometimes use bulky 3.5mm tape, the Gobik Bond Ultragrip’s 2.5mm thickness is the professional racing standard for high-performance road and competitive gravel. By pairing a high-density EVA foam core with an ultra-grippy polyurethane outer skin, it provides the same real-world vibration dampening as thicker, cheaper tapes while preserving the natural, slim profile of your handlebars.

Can this handlebar tape be safely unwrapped and adjusted during installation?

Yes. Because Gobik utilizes an advanced gel-backed liner instead of traditional, aggressive double-sided glue, you have total flexibility during installation. If your overlap spacing isn't perfectly symmetrical or you need to adjust the wrapping tension around your Shimano Di2 or SRAM AXS shifter hoods, you can safely unwrap the roll, back up, and re-tension it without tearing the core or leaving sticky adhesive residue behind on your carbon handlebars.
