How do I clean the chest strap, and can I wear it while swimming?

To maintain data transmission and prevent standard odors, you should unsnap the plastic transmitter module after every ride, rinse the fabric strap in fresh water, and wash it thoroughly after every 4 to 5 training sessions using a gentle laundry detergent. While the HRM-Dual features a highly robust 5 ATM waterproof sealing configuration that easily handles severe rain storms and heavy sweat, it is not engineered to broadcast data through water.
