FAQ

Can I run this specific tube-type Grand Prix 5000 tyre as a tubeless setup?

No. This version is a dedicated tube-type tyre explicitly engineered to be used with standard butyl, latex, or ultra-lightweight TPU inner tubes. Its bead structure and internal casing are not designed to hold liquid sealants or lock air tight against a tubeless rim wall. Attempting to run this model tubeless is highly unsafe. If you are running a tubeless wheel setup, you will want to select the GP5000 S TR (Tubeless Ready) model instead.

What are the advantages of running a wider 30mm tyre on a traditional tube system?

Moving up to a 30mm width increases the tyre's air pocket capacity significantly. This allows you to run lower, more compliant tyre pressures safely without increasing the risk of pinch-flats. At lower pressures, the 30mm tyre molds cleanly over broken pavement rather than deflecting roughly against it, resulting in a ride that carries momentum better, corners with grip, and drastically dampens the fatiguing vibrations of long endurance routes.
