Description
PRINCETON CARBONWORKS WAKE 6560 EVO TUBELESS DISC TACTIC WHEELSET
The Princeton CarbonWorks Wake 6560 Evolution introduces a revolutionary new design, marking the second wheelset in Princeton’s Evolution series following the Alta 3532. Extensive testing and development have led to a wheelset that surpasses its predecessor, the Wake 6560 Strada, in efficiency. Most notably, the new Wake 6560 Evolution represents the most significant performance leap within the entire Wake series.
Immediately distinguishable from previous versions, the shape of the Wake 6560 has undergone substantial changes. The new Evolution profile incorporates alternating deep and shallow rim sections with alternating spoke sides. This arrangement allows steeper, high-tension spokes (drive-side rear spokes and disc-side front spokes) to connect to deeper rim sections, thereby reducing spoke angles. This adjustment in bracing angle helps to balance spoke tensions, resulting in a stiffer, more consistent wheel. This patented technology, Radially Staggered Lacing, is exclusive to Princeton CarbonWorks road wheels.
The Wake 6560 Evolution is also marginally wider and lighter than its predecessor. The increased width (21mm internal, 28.2mm maximum external) is optimised for the 25-28mm tyres commonly used by professional cyclists. Consequently, the wheel exhibits improved aerodynamic efficiency across all yaw angles and enhanced stability in challenging crosswinds. Rim weight has been reduced by 10g per rim, aided by the overall shorter cord length of the inner edge. The rim brake and hooks remain intact. Ride as you prefer, with whatever you prefer. The Wake 6560 Evolution retains its hooked, hole-less, tubeless-ready tyre bed, accommodating clincher/tubed tyres or tubeless tyres without the need for tape and without tyre pressure restrictions.
